Ya, this is a bit overboard.

Katrina Victims Hit Feds With 489,000 Claims, Including One for $3 Quadrillion

A whopping $3,014,170,389,176,410 is the dollar figure so far sought from some of the largest claims filed against the federal government over damage from the failure of levees and flood walls following the Aug. 29, 2005, hurricane.

Of roughly 489,000 total claims, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it has received 247 for at least $1 billion apiece, including the one for $3 quadrillion.

For the sake of perspective: A mere $1 quadrillion would dwarf the U.S. gross domestic product, which Scott said was $13.2 trillion in 2007. A stack of one quadrillion pennies would reach Saturn.

lol - yeah I saw that in the news yesterday. And you thought the McDonald's coffee lawsuit was frivolous... I don't want to minimize anyone's suffering, but $3 quadrillion????

And tell me again why it's the government's fault that the worst hurricane in history messed up their lives? Do we have a slight entitlement mentality here?

seriously. why is it the governments job to take care of us? I can think of very few things that the government does well. Why is cleaning up other messes the job of the government?

I can't believe that. Not only is it not the government's fault, but even if it IS the government's fault, it's not the FEDERAL gov'nt's fault! Heck, Bush called the Louisiana Governor and said "you really need to ask me for help," but the gubernatorial MORON said "no thanks."

Which gov'nt spent too much tax money on tourism and not on the levee? Why is it the Army's job to rebuild the levee? What's the Army's job again? To protect and serve? NO!! It's to KILL BAD GUYS!!

The stupid morons who were too idiotic to come on out of the rain, deserve to rebuild it out of their own stinking pockets.

I hate stupid people...
