This is a cool page that tests your connection speed, and graphs it compared to other standards.

Try it a few times, the results can vary...
I got usually about 6Mbps download and 70Kbps upload.
Note that they use bits, not Bytes... if you want to convert the results to normal usage, divide by 8 (or 10).
So, for instance, I download at 6Mbps (bits). Most people use MB (Bytes). So I would download at about .6MBps.
(that just went WAY over mother's head!)
