Want to download your favorite movie?? For free?? LEGALLY????
Now you can.
Well, sort of.
The Internet Archive has a site with many public domain movies.
One notable download is Charade with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn, which is "public domain due to the failure to put the then required copyright notice in the released print." I am downloading my 4GB copy right now...
Go search their database and see what else they have!

Gas Station Owner Cashes in 1.4M Pennies
Note: The article's name is actually "$1.4M Pennies," but this is incorrect.

Oh, and the Spurs won!!
Go Spurs!!!

Alls well that ends well...

Well, today I did a project in class. It was a one minute live show from a TV studio, and I was the director. I spent the last few days writing the script and buying props. Today, I had 20 minutes to direct the show, and it went very well. The talent performed well, the camera operators did their job, and everyone in the control room was phenomenal. Although none of them read this blog (who does again??), I want to say thanks to the 13 people that made that work well!
I should have the show up for download next week sometime.

RETRIBUTION

Wednesday, June 15, 2005
Well, here it is! My first student film, up for everyone to get.
I recommend that you use VLC to watch the files. VLC is open source, so it is free, no mal-ware, and good on both PC and Macs (as well as like 20 other systems).
There are two versions (right click, save as):
Small (19MB)
Large (51MB)
NOTE that there is about 8 seconds of black at the beginning. Don't try to "fast forward," just suffer through it (it creates problems if you try to move the timeline).
Also, while I am ecstatic about how this turned out, there are a few things that I want to fix, and I am planning on spending the next few weeks fixing all of the problems. The cut that you see was edited in 5 hours, and I want to start from scratch again to see what I can do with out the requirements set up by the course.
Tell me what you think!
Also (again), thanks for OurMedia.org for hosting the movies for free!

Hey, guess what!

I was born on: 11/6/1984
I was born on a Tuesday under the astrological sign Scorpio.

The Julian calendar date of my birth is 2446010.5.
The golden number for 1984 is 9.
The epact number for 1984 is 27.
The year 1984 was a leap year.

As of 6/10/2005 12:58:04 AM CDT (early Friday morning)
I am 20 years old.
I am 247 months old.
I am 1,074 weeks old.
I am 7,521 days old.
I am 180,504 hours old.
I am 10,830,298 minutes old.
I am 649,817,884 seconds old.

There are 149 days till my next birthday on which my cake will have 21 candles on it.

Those 21 candles produce 21 BTU's, or 5,292 calories of heat (that's only 5.2920 food Calories!). You can boil 2.40 US ounces of water with that many candles.

The moon's phase on the day I was born was waxing gibbous.

There are 198 days till Christmas 2005!

Thanks to this site for the info.

fender-benders, buddies, and moving... oh my!

Wednesday, June 08, 2005
OK, a lot has happened this last week. Some good, some bad, some just down right funky... OK, so I am going over board with that. Oh well. Here is the stuff that has been happenin' this week:
I hit a car... again... (that makes 3). I was backing out of the parking lot and I didn't see the big red van behind me, and my bumper hit their bumper. It left a little dent (no scratches), so I left my information. Well, they never called me. So I have to assume that I am going to squeak by this one like the other two...
I am also starting production on my first student film. It is due Tuesday, so I should have a download of it soon after that. We don't have the script nailed down yet, but I can tell you this: it is going to be dark.
I got a new Buddy. That makes this one Buddy the Third. He is sitting by me and is happy swimming around aimlessly... A great fish, BTW!
Other than that... I have a lot going on, plenty to complain about, but I am sure you don't want to hear about it. If you do, call me and I will complain plenty. Oh, and if you call, please use my new dorm number, not my cell... I forgot my charger and the only way I can charge it is in the car... not so fun.
Oh, and I have a huge "Cool Links" section tonight:

For Diz:
Safari Screenshot Generator

For Fuzzy:
Wal-Mart won't print digital photos that look "professional"

Just for fun:
55 Optical Illusions & Visual Phenomena

Fastest Gun In The World! (0 - 76,000mph in one second)

Well, that is all. Hope yall are well!

OMG!!!

Chewbacca is a metrosexual!!!
Why else would he always carry around a man-bag????
What do you think is in there? As one person said it:
"No point in glamourizing a femenine accesory..Its a purse. I'd bet he's got 1 large nail file, 1 oversized hairbrush, and 1 small waterproof lipstick. Chewie's a freak on Saturday nights." (dAMIAn78)

(for those that don't know what a metrosexual is, check out this article from Wikipedia)
